In a disturbing incident in Ludhiana, a nine-year-old girl was reportedly raped by a grocery shop owner in their locality. The accused, a 24-year-old man, allegedly lured the minor girl into his shop under the pretext of getting ice and then tied her up before committing the heinous act.

The mother of the victim filed a complaint with the police, stating that she had sent her daughter to the shop for a simple errand. When the girl did not return home on time, the mother went to the shop to look for her. To her horror, she found the accused sexually assaulting her daughter. Upon raising an alarm, the accused fled from the scene.

The traumatized girl revealed to her mother that the shop owner had coerced her into entering the shop and then proceeded to tie her up and rape her. The mother immediately untied her daughter and reported the incident to the authorities.

An FIR has been lodged against the accused under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. This incident has once again highlighted the vulnerability of children and the urgent need for stringent measures to protect them from such horrific crimes.
