The Clarksville Police Department has identified the young soldier found dead inside a home on Tiny Town Road as 23-year-old Katia Duenas Aguilar from Mesquite, Texas. She was stationed at Ft. Campbell and was a member of the division’s Combat Aviation Brigade.
The discovery of Duenas Aguilar’s body at the residence has prompted a homicide investigation by local authorities. Officers were called to the scene following an ambulance call late in the evening on Saturday.
Army spokesperson Lt. Col. Tony Hoefler expressed shock and sadness at the tragic death of Pfc. Katia Duenas Aguilar. The Army and local investigative authorities are working together to uncover the circumstances surrounding her untimely passing.
Pfc. Duenas Aguilar enlisted in the Army as an Information Technology Specialist in 2018 and had received several prestigious medals during her service. The Army community mourns the loss of a dedicated and accomplished soldier.
