However, the situation took a devastating turn when Mbuthia managed to sneak out of his ward, prompting his brother to chase after him. Unbeknownst to them, they were heading towards a dangerous area with an open pool of water. In a heartbreaking turn of events, both brothers ended up drowning in the pool.
Local authorities, along with members of the community, were able to recover the bodies from the water. The bodies were then transferred to the mortuary for further examination.
