Accident – Death – Obituary News : INDIAN RIVER (WSVN) – A woman claiming to be a Broward educator found herself back in cuffs for allegedly shoplifting at a Vero Beach Best Buy store. The Indian River County Sheriff’s Department responded to a call about a theft at the electronics retailer last Tuesday.
Upon arrival, deputies encountered two suspected shoplifters attempting to flee the scene. The dramatic chase, captured on body camera footage, showed the suspects making a run for it, with one of them even evading the deputy momentarily before being apprehended.
The woman, identified as Danielle Marie Lorini, 32, from Coral Springs, claimed to be a teacher in Broward County, although school officials have since denied her employment status. Her alleged accomplice and boyfriend, 36-year-old Andrew Joseph Causa from Fort Lauderdale, was also taken into custody.
This was not the duo’s first brush with the law. Earlier in January, Lorini and Causa were arrested for a string of thefts at a Best Buy in Southwest Miami-Dade, amounting to over $20,000 in stolen merchandise. Authorities believe the pair was funding a drug habit through their criminal activities.
The latest incident in Vero Beach has added to their legal woes, with charges including grand theft, petty theft, possession of drug paraphernalia, and resisting an officer without violence. The authorities commended the swift response of the Indian River County Deputies in apprehending the suspects, who had been targeting Best Buy stores across Florida.
