(EL PASO COUNTY, Colo.) — Authorities in El Paso County are on the lookout for a 51-year-old man accused of attempted murder after allegedly shooting his son in the Cimarron Hills area on Thursday, May 16.

Incident Details

According to the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office (EPSO), deputies responded to a call reporting a shooting in the 6000 block of Chantilly Place in Cimarron Hills around 10:30 a.m. Multiple callers reported hearing between six and 10 gunshots in the area.

Upon arrival, deputies found the victim and provided medical assistance before he was transported to the hospital for treatment.

Suspect Information

The suspect, identified as Dan Medina, reportedly fled the scene following the incident and has not been located since. Authorities have issued a warrant for his arrest on charges of attempted murder.

Public Alert

Authorities have warned the public that Dan Medina is considered armed and dangerous. If spotted, individuals are advised not to approach him and instead contact emergency services by dialling 911.
