Authorities from the New Mexico State Police are currently conducting a thorough investigation into a tragic murder that took place at a residence in Chimayo. The incident unfolded on County Road 86 on May 14, where law enforcement officers executed a search warrant in search of 41-year-old Christopher Serrano. Serrano was wanted on multiple charges, including aggravated assault by strangulation, criminal sexual contact, and interference with communications stemming from a prior incident.
Upon arrival at the property, authorities discovered a lifeless man with visible signs of trauma, later identified as Christopher Serrano. The NMSP tactical team meticulously cleared the residence, ensuring the safety of the area, and confirmed that no additional individuals were present inside the property at the time.
