A devastating incident unfolded last week near Woodstock, as a 29-year-old mother of two tragically succumbed to injuries sustained in a rollover crash.
The Woodstock Fire/Rescue District and McHenry County Sheriff’s Office sprang into action around 10:45 a.m. Wednesday following reports of a vehicle crash with entrapment at the intersection of Dean Street and Gayle Drive in unincorporated Woodstock.
Woodstock Fire/Rescue District Communication Specialist Alex Vucha described the initial scene as a single-vehicle rollover with one occupant trapped and another ejected from the car.
Within minutes, firefighters arrived at the site of the harrowing crash, finding a vehicle severely damaged by the impact.
Amidst the chaos, one victim received CPR from a bystander, while another remained trapped inside the vehicle, prompting paramedics to spring into action with life-saving measures.
Thanks to the swift response of emergency crews, one of the patients was successfully resuscitated, offering a glimmer of hope in the midst of tragedy.
Simultaneously, firefighters worked tirelessly to extricate the second victim from the mangled vehicle.
