A Camarillo resident currently incarcerated in connection with a homicide case is facing new charges for the alleged murder of a second individual.
Authorities have identified Rotherie Durell Foster, 38, as the suspect in the killing of 72-year-old Bill Dean Levy from Los Angeles, according to a press release from the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office.
Details are scarce ahead of an upcoming news conference, but authorities have disclosed that Foster allegedly committed the murder of Levy on January 10, 2022, in the 15000 block of Viewridge Lane in Granada Hills.
Prior to this incident, Foster was implicated in the murder case of 35-year-old José Antonio Velásquez, who was reported missing in July 2022. Velásquez’s remains were discovered in October 2022 in the Santa Monica Mountains, as reported by the Los Angeles Times.
Foster came under suspicion after he was caught using Velásquez’s debit card, with prosecutors alleging that he fatally shot the fellow plumber for financial gain.
During his teenage years, Foster was sentenced to prison for voluntary manslaughter and assault, eventually being released on parole in 2018.
