BOONE COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ/Gray News) – Authorities in West Virginia were left stunned after discovering a 14-year-old girl, Kyneddi Miller, in a skeletal state at her home. It was revealed that the teenager had not received any medical treatment for the past four years, leading to her tragic condition.
Deputies were called to the residence on April 17 following reports of cardiac arrest involving Kyneddi. Upon arrival, they were taken aback by the shocking appearance of the young girl.
The criminal complaint filed in the case described Kyneddi’s body as being ‘emaciated to a skeletal state,’ as reported by WSAZ.
During an interview with Donna Stone, Kyneddi’s grandmother, deputies learned that the teenager had been confined to the house and had only been outside on two occasions over the past four years. Additionally, Kyneddi had not attended school since late 2019 or early 2020.
It was revealed that Kyneddi’s mother, Julie Miller, had also neglected to seek any medical help for her daughter over the same four-year period, according to WSAZ.
In the days leading up to her tragic demise, Donna Stone disclosed that Kyneddi had been unable to care for herself for four to five days due to her deteriorating physical condition.
As a result of this shocking case of neglect, Jerry Stone, Donna Stone, and Julie Miller were charged with child neglect, resulting in death. Deputies stated that all three individuals had failed to provide the minimum level of care necessary to ensure the teenager’s physical safety and well-being.
