BOONE COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ/Gray News) – Authorities in West Virginia were left stunned after discovering a 14-year-old girl in a skeletal state, highlighting a severe case of neglect that spanned over four years.
On April 17, deputies were called to a residence following reports of a teenager, identified as Kyneddi Miller, experiencing cardiac arrest. Upon arrival, law enforcement officers were met with a distressing sight.
The criminal complaint detailed the harrowing condition of Kyneddi’s body, describing her as ’emaciated to a skeletal state,’ as reported by WSAZ.
An interview with Donna Stone, the teen’s grandmother, revealed shocking details about Kyneddi’s living conditions. It was disclosed that the teenager had been confined indoors for the majority of the past four years and had ceased attending school since late 2019 or early 2020.
Tragically, Kyneddi’s mother, Julie Miller, also neglected to seek any medical attention for her daughter during this period, as highlighted in the WSAZ report.
In the days leading up to her untimely death, Donna Stone disclosed that Kyneddi had been unable to care for herself for several days due to her deteriorating physical state, according to the criminal complaint.
Subsequently, Jerry Stone, Donna Stone, and Julie Miller were all charged with child neglect resulting in death. Deputies asserted that the trio had failed to provide the minimum level of care necessary to safeguard the teenager’s physical well-being.
