Accident – Death – Obituary News : A tragic incident occurred in Lohagara upazila of Chattogram on the night of 19th May, where a 56-year-old woman lost her life in a wild elephant attack. The victim, identified as Hamida Akter, wife of late Nazir Hossain, was on her way to a shop after Esha prayers when she encountered the wild elephant in Hanif’s Para, near the Putibila Poharchanda Ashrayan Project in Lohagara Upazila.

Local Union Parishad member Abdul Mannan reported that the elephant struck her with its trunk, causing severe injuries. Despite the efforts of local residents to rescue her, she tragically passed away on the way to the hospital. The incident has left the community in shock and mourning the loss of a beloved member.

Lohagara Police Station Officer-in-Charge, Rashedul Alam, confirmed the attack and stated that a police team visited the scene upon receiving the news. This unfortunate event serves as a reminder of the dangers posed by wild animals and the importance of taking precautions when venturing into their habitats.
