The Knoxville Police Department has confirmed the identity of one of the victims in the recent deadly shootings that took place near North Broadway over the weekend. The victim of the shooting at Anderson Automotive & Towing has been identified as Claude Johnson, a 55-year-old resident of Mascot, Tennessee. However, the second victim in a separate shooting on North Broadway is yet to be identified.
According to the Knoxville Police Department, detectives have reason to believe that the shooting in the 400 block of North Broadway is directly linked to the incident at Anderson Automotive.
Authorities have stated that the victim from the fatal shooting in the 400 block of N. Broadway has not been positively identified yet. Detectives are actively collaborating with the Regional Forensic Center to ascertain the victim’s identity.
Robert Scruggs, a 28-year-old individual, has been arrested and charged in connection with both murders. The charges against Scruggs include first-degree murder and felony murder.
