LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – A heartbreaking incident occurred in Las Vegas as the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department announced the passing of an 84-year-old woman after a fatal accident.
The incident took place on Far Hills Avenue, west of Desert Foothills Drive, where the elderly woman, identified as Carol S., tragically struck a curb while driving her Honda Accord in the eastbound travel lanes. The emergency services were alerted to the scene on Saturday, March 2, at approximately 4:46 p.m.
Upon arrival, medical personnel found Carol S. to be alert and coherent. However, it was discovered that she was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the collision. She was swiftly transported to UMC Trauma for urgent medical attention.
Despite efforts to save her, the unfortunate news came on March 6 that Carol S. had succumbed to her injuries sustained from the impact with the curb. This tragic event marks the 68th traffic-related fatality in Las Vegas for the year 2024.
The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department’s Collision Investigation Section is currently conducting a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding the accident to determine the exact cause of the incident.
