A devastating incident unfolded in LaPorte County, Indiana, on Sunday afternoon, resulting in the loss of a 92-year-old woman’s life. The collision occurred just before 2 p.m. along the 8300 block of W. County Road 400 North in the rural area of Coolspring Township.
Reports from the LaPorte County Sheriff’s Office indicate that the fatal crash involved an Audi travelling east on County Road 400 North. Tragically, the Audi veered into the opposite lane, leading to a collision with a westbound Subaru.
Regrettably, the impact of the crash proved fatal for a passenger in the Subaru, identified as 92-year-old Carol Lukes. Despite immediate medical attention, Lukes succumbed to her injuries at the hospital.
Additionally, a passenger in the Audi, a 75-year-old woman from LaPorte, sustained an upper body injury and was promptly transported to the hospital for treatment.
Fortunately, the drivers of both vehicles escaped physical harm in the accident. The Audi was operated by a 74-year-old woman from LaPorte, while the Subaru was driven by a 68-year-old woman, also from LaPorte.
