A devastating incident occurred in LaPorte County, Indiana, resulting in the tragic death of a 92-year-old woman. The fatal crash took place on Sunday afternoon in the rural Coolspring Township.
The unfortunate event unfolded shortly before 2 p.m. along the 8300 block of W. County Road 400 North. According to reports from the LaPorte County Sheriff’s Office, an Audi travelling east on County Road 400 North veered into the opposite lane and collided with a westbound Subaru.
Carol Lukes, a 92-year-old passenger in the Subaru, sustained severe injuries in the crash and was rushed to the hospital. Despite the efforts of medical personnel, Lukes tragically succumbed to her injuries.
Another passenger in the Audi, a 75-year-old woman from LaPorte, was also taken to the hospital for treatment of an upper body injury. Fortunately, the drivers of both vehicles, a 74-year-old woman in the Audi and a 68-year-old woman in the Subaru, escaped the collision without any physical harm.
