Bryce Rivers : “Loaded Guns Found in Tampa Patrol, Teen Charged”

TAMPA, Fla. – According to the Tampa Police Department, officers discovered two firearms and apprehended an 18-year-old individual for possessing a concealed weapon on Saturday.

At approximately 10:30 p.m., TPD officers were engaged in proactive patrols in the South Howard area.

Law enforcement officials observed two males loitering around a blue BMW at the intersection of S. Howard Ave and W. Swann Ave before they distanced themselves from the vehicle.

Subsequently, one of the individuals was identified as 18-year-old Bryce Rivers.

The authorities state that officers approached the vehicle and, upon spotting a black and tan handgun in plain sight, commenced surveillance immediately.

Upon the return of the two individuals to the car, officers approached them for a field interview, as per official reports.

Law enforcement officials mention that the previously sighted gun, a loaded Taurus G2C 9mm, was seized during a search of the vehicle.

According to officials, a second firearm, a loaded purple Taurus G2C 9mm handgun that had been reported stolen in 2021, was also found during the investigation.

“The sharp observation skills exhibited by our officers led to the retrieval of two firearms,” stated Tampa Police Chief Lee Bercaw in a press release. “These diligent efforts are a triumph for public safety and underscore our department’s dedication to maintaining Tampa as a secure place to reside, work, and visit.”

Rivers was apprehended and charged with carrying a concealed firearm before being transported to Orient Road Jail, as per TPD.
