Accident – Death – Obituary News :

Last week, a suspected thief was apprehended in Indianapolis after his love for Funyuns led to his arrest. Robbery detectives identified the culprit as 55-year-old Alonzo Sansbury, linking him to two theft incidents on the north side of the city that occurred within 30 minutes of each other.

The first robbery took place at the Dollar Tree on North Keystone Avenue, where the suspect attempted to pay with a counterfeit $100 bill before demanding money from the register. Shortly after, the same individual targeted Big Lots on North Allisonville Road, brandishing a handgun and making off with cash and a pack of Funyuns.

Surveillance footage from both incidents revealed that the suspect was wearing a gray long-sleeve shirt, a black stocking cap, gray sweatpants, and black and orange shoes. He also had a distinct limp and fled the scene in a white van.

Thanks to information from license plate readers, law enforcement officers were able to track down Sansbury at a gas station. A search of his vehicle yielded clothing matching those seen in the surveillance footage, as well as a pack of Funyuns.

The investigation involved multiple law enforcement agencies, including IMPD Covert Robbery, the FBI Violent Crimes Task Force, the Auto Theft Unit, and the IMPD Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) team. The Marion County Prosecutor’s Office will be responsible for making the final decision regarding charges in the case.

This incident serves as a reminder of the diligent work carried out by law enforcement to apprehend suspects involved in criminal activities. The swift action taken by authorities in this case highlights the importance of collaboration between different agencies to ensure the safety and security of the community.
