An alleged drug pusher was taken into custody in the early hours of Monday by patrolling anti-drug operatives in Pasay City, Philippines.
Reports indicate that officers from Sub-Station 4 of the Pasay City Police Station arrested an individual for contravening Section 11, Article 2 of Republic Act No. 9165 at around 12:30 a.m. on 20 May 2024, along Champaca Street, Barangay 137 in Pasay City.
The suspect, who goes by the alias “Pako” and is 53 years old, was apprehended during a routine motorcycle patrol. Law enforcement officers noticed Pako seated on his motorcycle and engaged in conversation with another individual. Upon spotting the police, both men made a hasty escape.
The police pursued the suspects and managed to corner Pako, who abandoned his motorcycle on the road. Upon searching him, officers discovered a red envelope containing a heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet with roughly 25 grams of suspected shabu, valued at around P170,000 on the street.
Unfortunately, the other individual accompanying Pako was able to evade capture.
Following his arrest, Pako is currently in police custody at the local station awaiting further legal proceedings.
