Friday:

In the early hours of Friday, officers conducted a traffic stop in the 10 block of Third Street as part of an investigation into recent thefts. During the stop, it was discovered that one of the passengers had an outstanding warrant from Daviess County for failing to appear on a DWI charge. The 18-year-old male from Chillicothe was promptly arrested and taken to the Caldwell County Detention Center for processing.

Later that day, officers apprehended a 16-year-old with a warrant from the Division of Youth Services at South Street and Graves Street. The teenager resisted arrest, but with the help of a vigilant citizen, the arrest was successfully made. Additionally, drug paraphernalia was found on the teenager, and Chief Jon Maples confirmed that the arrest led to the closure of multiple theft cases, including a stolen firearm.

Furthermore, a 53-year-old Chillicothe man was arrested in the evening for a Grundy County warrant related to theft. He was transported to the Grundy County line and handed over to the authorities there.

Saturday:

Later in the morning, officers were called to the 800 block of Walnut for a death investigation. No criminal activity was discovered, but the investigation is ongoing.

Throughout the day, officers handled various incidents, including the arrest of a woman on a warrant for fraud, a domestic disturbance resulting in a man’s arrest for domestic assault, and a report of a hit-and-run accident in the 1200 block of Washington.

In the evening, officers responded to a fight between recreational baseball teams at Danner Park, which was quickly resolved. They also attended to a disturbance on Jackson Street involving an intoxicated woman with a nose injury who was taken to the hospital.

Sunday:

Sunday began with officers issuing a citation for illegal burning to a suspect in the area of Jansen and Calhoun, following multiple warnings from the fire department.

Throughout the day, officers handled various incidents, including a hit-and-run in the 1300 block of Washington and a two-vehicle crash at Grandview and 3rd Street, where the driver of the striking vehicle was cited for traffic violations.
