Accident – Death – Obituary News : An 18-year-old teenager stands accused of fatally assaulting his 13-year-old brother following a dispute over mobile phone video games in the outskirts of Bengaluru on May 15th.
The victim, identified as Pranesh, and the alleged perpetrator, Shivakumar, resided with their parents in a farmhouse near Neriga village. Originally from Adoni in the Kurnool district of Andhra Pradesh, Shivakumar had dropped out of school while Pranesh had recently completed Class 7, according to police reports.
Reports suggest that the tragic incident unfolded on a Wednesday afternoon when Pranesh was engrossed in gaming on Shivakumar’s mobile device. An altercation ensued when Shivakumar requested the return of his phone, which Pranesh apparently refused. The disagreement escalated, leading Shivakumar to reportedly brandish a hammer in a bid to intimidate his younger sibling. In a moment of fury, Shivakumar allegedly struck Pranesh on the head with the hammer, causing him to collapse. Shockingly, Shivakumar purportedly continued to strike Pranesh seven or eight more times.
Despite the violent episode, the matter remained undisclosed until later in the evening when the parents returned home from work. It was then that Shivakumar disclosed the grim discovery of Pranesh’s lifeless body.
Authorities were promptly notified, and the Sarjapura police launched an investigation into the incident. Although Shivakumar initially maintained his innocence, circumstantial evidence pointed to his involvement. Subsequent interrogation led to Shivakumar confessing to the fatal assault, as confirmed by a police spokesperson.
In light of the confession, Shivakumar was apprehended by law enforcement and presented before a court. He has since been remanded to judicial custody pending further legal proceedings.
