Accident – Death – Obituary News :

The Karnataka Police took action on Saturday, May 18, by suspending Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) P Rajeev for alleged negligence in the investigation of the murder case of 20-year-old Anjali Ambigera. Anjali was brutally stabbed to death at her residence in the Veerapur Oni area of Hubballi in the early hours of May 15.

Following the tragic incident, Anjali’s minor sister reportedly attempted to take her own life in protest of the perceived police negligence in the case. The young girl was rushed to the hospital and is currently in stable condition.

Savita Sawanth, the mother of the accused youth, Vishwa alias Girish, claimed that her son had not been at their home for the past six months. She expressed her unwillingness to support him and stated that she would let the judicial system decide his fate.

Anjali, who worked at a local canteen, resided with her sister and grandmother after losing her parents. She had repeatedly rejected Girish’s advances and requests for her to accompany him to Mysuru. Girish allegedly threatened Anjali after she turned down all his propositions, citing the murder of Neha Hiremath in Hubballi on April 18 as an example.

Prior to the fatal incident, Anjali’s family had reportedly informed the police about the threats their daughter was facing from Girish. However, their concerns were allegedly disregarded by the authorities. Subsequently, Inspector Chandrashekar Chikkodi and Head Constable Rekha of the Bendigeri police station were also suspended for negligence in the case.
