The New York Police Department is currently conducting an investigation into the untimely death of Svitlana Indelicato, a 50-year-old self-employed accessories designer. Indelicato, who sold her unique creations on platforms such as Etsy and social media, was tragically found deceased in her Bensonhurst, Brooklyn home on Thursday morning.
Upon receiving a 911 call at 5:05 a.m., police officers discovered Indelicato in a state of unconsciousness with signs of trauma around her neck. Despite the efforts of Emergency Medical Services (EMS) who responded to the scene at 1608 86th Street, Indelicato was pronounced dead on site.
Ongoing Investigation and Autopsy
The NYPD has yet to make any arrests in connection to Indelicato’s death as the investigation continues. The office of the chief medical examiner will conduct an autopsy to determine the cause of death. However, as of now, representatives from the medical examiner’s office have not provided any updates on the status of the autopsy.
A Creative Legacy
Known for her unique approach to accessories design, Indelicato described her brand, VitalTemptation, as offering “free spirited bohemian leather goods for life,” all proudly made in the U.S. With a significant number of sales on platforms like Etsy, Indelicato’s creations garnered a loyal following.
ScarfObsession, another brand associated with Indelicato, specialised in scarves, pashminas, luxury hair accessories, and bags. With a strong presence on social media, Indelicato used platforms like Instagram, Pinterest, and Facebook to showcase her designs and engage with her audience.
A Life Cut Short
As of May 12, data from the NYPD indicated that there had been two reported murders in the 62 Precinct where Indelicato resided. This tragic incident has shocked the community and left many mourning the loss of a talented designer.
