Tragedy struck in Delhi’s Kashmiri Gate area in the early hours of Saturday morning as two men lost their lives in a devastating motorcycle accident. The victims, identified as Piyush and Ankur, were returning from a trip to Haridwar in Uttarakhand when their motorcycle was struck by a speeding truck.
The fatal collision occurred near the Hanuman Mandir Flyover on Ring Road, where the truck, travelling at high speed, crashed into the motorcycle carrying Piyush and Ankur. The impact of the collision left both men critically injured, and despite being rushed to a nearby hospital, they were tragically pronounced dead.
Both Piyush and Ankur, residents of Delhi’s Mehrauli area, were not wearing helmets at the time of the accident, further highlighting the importance of road safety measures. The truck driver, identified as 38-year-old Surender Singh, was apprehended with the assistance of an auto driver who chased and handed him over to the authorities.
The Kashmere Gate police station has registered a case under sections 279 (rash driving) and 304A (causing death by negligence), as investigations into the incident continue. The authorities are working diligently to uncover the full details surrounding this tragic event and ensure that justice is served.
