Authorities are currently conducting an investigation following a tragic incident where two juveniles were struck by bullets during a violent shooting in Bridgeport on Friday night.

The incident unfolded when police received multiple reports of gunfire within the 300 block of Bunnell Street at approximately 10:25 p.m. Officers swiftly responded to the scene to assess the situation.

Approximately 20 minutes later, a gunshot detection system was activated within the 100 block of Sixth Street, just two city blocks away from the initial location. Shortly after, authorities were notified of another shooting victim in the 200 block of Deacon Street, located just one city block from the original incident.

Upon arrival at the scene, officers encountered a large crowd gathered in the 300 block of Bunnell Street. They managed to locate a 15-year-old teenager from Bridgeport who had sustained a gunshot wound. The victim was promptly transported to a nearby hospital and is currently in critical condition.

Meanwhile, as officers were securing the crime scene on Deacon Street, a 16-year-old from Bridgeport arrived at a local hospital with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to the foot.

Authorities have determined that a large house party was taking place in the 300 block of Bunnell Street prior to the shootings. It has been established that the 16-year-old victim was also shot in the vicinity of the party.

The investigation into the shooting is ongoing, with crime scenes identified and secured on Bunnell Street, Deacon Street, Holly Street, and Sixth Street. The Detective Bureau’s Forensic Identification Unit has meticulously processed the scene, collecting several crucial pieces of evidence.
