(NewsNation) — The Israel Defense Forces have made a somber announcement regarding the recovery of the bodies of three individuals who were attending the Nova music festival on October 7, 2023, amidst a tragic Hamas attack.

The three individuals, identified as Shani Louk, Amit Buskila, and Itzik Gelerenter, were confirmed to be the hostages who lost their lives during an attempt to escape the festival grounds. The Israel Defense Forces revealed that the bodies were located based on critical intelligence information and were subsequently returned to Gaza.

Amid conflicting reports regarding the exact location of the recovery, the Israeli National Forensic Institute and Ministry of Health officially identified the three victims. Shani Louk, a German-Israeli tattoo artist, had previously been presumed deceased after a fragment of her skull was discovered months earlier. Her tragic fate gained widespread attention when distressing images of her remains being transported in a truck circulated on social media.

Amit Buskila, who was in communication with her uncle during the escape attempt, met a heartbreaking end as her desperate plea and subsequent gunfire were heard over the phone. Itzik Gelerenter, a family man with four children and two grandchildren, had only arrived at the festival shortly before the devastating attack took place.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has expressed the nation’s commitment to ensuring the return of all hostages, both living and deceased, following this harrowing incident. The promise of justice and closure for the victims and their families remains a top priority for Israeli authorities.
