A 23-year-old woman, Rachel Geoffrey, residing in the Federal Housing Estate, Girei, has been apprehended by the Adamawa State Police Command for allegedly inflicting severe burns on the hands of her stepchildren.
The victims, Genesis Geoffrey, aged seven, and Idadai Geoffrey, aged three, now bear the painful aftermath of the alleged abuse, with their injured hands bandaged as they receive medical attention.
According to a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, SP Suleiman Nguroje, Rachel stands accused of intentionally subjecting her stepchildren to acts of cruelty and human rights violations.
