A lady doctor at Tehsil Headquarters Hospital in Safdarabad, Sheikhupura, caused a commotion when she accidentally discharged her firearm, hitting a patient named Asia Bibi in the arm. The doctor, identified as Hina Manzoor, had the pistol in her purse during her shift when it unexpectedly went off as she tried to retrieve it.
The injured patient was swiftly taken to Sheikhupura Hospital by the doctor in her own vehicle. While the incident was confirmed by the patient’s family, the hospital administration declined to provide CCTV footage to the press.
In a separate incident in Gujranwala district of Punjab, a woman tragically lost her life while cleaning her husband’s pistol. The firearm discharged accidentally, resulting in her fatal injury.
Law enforcement authorities were swift to respond, securing the area for evidence collection and conducting medico-legal procedures at a nearby medical facility. The police assured a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Another unfortunate incident occurred in Karachi’s Gulistan-e-Johar block 11, where a man fatally shot himself while attempting to clean his gun. The 30-year-old individual accidentally discharged the firearm, causing injuries to two others present at the scene.
