Accident – Death – Obituary News : A man from Tennessee has been formally charged with attempted second-degree murder after he fired shots at a Domino’s delivery driver who mistakenly entered his property. The incident occurred on April 29, when 32-year-old Ryan Babcock allegedly shot at 18-year-old Caieden Wheeler, the delivery driver, who had pulled into Babcock’s driveway by mistake.

The Cheatham County Grand Jury has indicted Babcock on charges of attempted second-degree murder, aggravated assault, three counts of reckless endangerment, and vandalism. The charges were confirmed by WSMV-TV and WZTV Nashville.

According to reports from NBC News and WZTV Nashville, Wheeler had parked in Babcock’s driveway and was delivering the pizza to a neighbor when Babcock emerged from his home and began shooting at him. Wheeler managed to escape unharmed, but his truck sustained damage from the bullets.

In a statement to WZTV Nashville, Wheeler expressed his shock and relief, stating that the bullets narrowly missed hitting him in the head. Babcock later confessed to shooting at Wheeler, claiming he believed the driver was trying to break into his truck.

Police recovered a 9mm handgun and seven shell casings from Babcock’s property. Despite the incident, Babcock was released on a $50,000 bond following his arrest. His next court appearance is scheduled for September 9.

Following the traumatic event, Wheeler has filed a lawsuit against Babcock and Domino’s, citing emotional distress and negligence. He clarified that he was not a regular employee of Domino’s and was only delivering the pizza due to staffing shortages at the time.
