Jasmine Denise Mikell : “3-Year-Old Girl Crushed by Birdbath: Devastating Loss”

A heartbreaking incident occurred on Mother’s Day in South Carolina, where a 3-year-old child, Jasmine Denise Mickell, was tragically pronounced dead after a birdbath fell on her.

The Aiken County Coroner’s Office filed a case report indicating that Jasmine suffered from blunt force injury to the abdomen, with the suspected cause of death listed as an accident.

Deputies from the Aiken County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene after receiving reports that the child was crushed by a birdbath. However, upon arrival, they found the family with the child in the middle of the road, as per an incident report obtained by PEOPLE.

First responders at the scene immediately began compressions in an effort to save Jasmine’s life.

The tragic incident took place in Warrenville, South Carolina, located approximately 15 miles from Augusta, Georgia, as reported by WSB-TV.

Jasmine was rushed to the Children’s Hospital of Georgia, where her life could not be saved, according to WRDW.

No charges have been filed in connection with the child’s death, which authorities have deemed a “tragic accident.”

A GoFundMe campaign has been set up to support Jasmine’s family during this difficult time. The fundraiser, organized by Kayla Wyatt, has already raised nearly $600 of its $1,000 goal.

“I am the aunt of JAZZY, a beautiful 3-year-old who sadly passed away on May 12. I am trying to raise money for her family to cope with this devastating loss. Any contribution, no matter how small, will be greatly appreciated. GOD BLESS,” shared Wyatt in the fundraiser post.

“She brought joy to anyone she met. Despite her short time on this earth, the impact she had on people will never be forgotten. Jasmine loved honey grahams, candy, swimming, and visits to the park,” reads an obituary for Jasmine.

Jasmine is survived by her parents, Alex Baxter and Brianna Jazmine Mikell, as well as five siblings – Karsen, Avery, Olivia, Lizzy, and Lily Baxter.

Celebration of life services for Jasmine will be held on Sunday, May 19 at Gloverville Community Park and on Sunday, May 26 at Langley Pond Recreation Area.
