Accident – Death – Obituary News : DARKE COUNTY, Ohio (WDTN) — Tragedy struck on Goubeaux Road in Darke County as a fatal crash claimed a life. The incident, which occurred late in the evening, involved a single vehicle and resulted in the death of the driver, identified as 18-year-old Damian Burns.
Emergency responders from North Star Fire, Ansonia Rescue, and CareFlight rushed to the scene following reports of an injury crash at around 11:24 p.m. A preliminary investigation revealed that a 2021 Polaris Razor lost control and rolled multiple times while traversing a field. Both the driver and passenger sustained injuries in the accident.
Despite initial treatment at the scene, the driver, Damian Burns, was airlifted to a local hospital by CareFlight. Tragically, the Montgomery County Coroner’s Office later confirmed his passing at the hospital. Meanwhile, the passenger was also taken to a nearby medical facility for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
It was noted that neither the driver nor the passenger were wearing safety belts or helmets at the time of the crash. The Darke County Sheriff’s Office is currently conducting an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
