Accident – Death – Obituary News :

CORAL GABLES, FL. (WSVN) – The attorney representing Carlos Alonso, the elderly man connected to the tragic boating accident that claimed the life of 15-year-old Ella Adler, has publicly conveyed her profound sorrow over the incident.

The devastating accident took place during a birthday celebration on the water over the weekend.

Following Alonso’s return home accompanied by his legal counsel, lawyer Lauren Field Krasnoff expressed that her client, also known as Bill, would not be making a statement but was “completely devastated by the heartbreaking tragedy.”

Deep Sorrow and Sympathy

“This is an unimaginable tragedy. Before anything else, we wish to extend our heartfelt condolences to Ella Adler’s family and loved ones,” Field Krasnoff stated. “Bill is a seasoned sailor. He was out on the water alone that day. He had no knowledge of any accident occurring, let alone his potential involvement in it. If Bill had collided with anything, especially a person, he would have undoubtedly stopped, but he was completely unaware of the incident until law enforcement came knocking on his door.”

The legal representative clarified that alcohol did not play a role in the tragic event.

No Involvement of Alcohol

“He does not consume alcohol, and he did not drink on that Saturday,” Field Krasnoff confirmed. “He is a good-hearted individual and was truly devastated upon learning about his possible connection to this heartbreaking tragedy.”

The boat implicated in the accident was removed on Tuesday from behind Alonso’s residence in Coral Gables, with Alonso identified as the vessel’s owner and operator. As of Thursday evening, no charges had been filed against him.

Adler was wakeboarding in Biscayne Bay when the incident occurred. Investigators revealed that when Adler and another girl fell into the water, the boat towing them turned back to retrieve them. Allegations suggest that Alonso’s boat collided with Adler at that moment and then left the scene.

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission confirmed that Alonso is cooperating fully with the ongoing investigation.

Melissa White, the mother of one of the teenagers who witnessed the tragic event, attended the Key Biscayne Council meeting on Tuesday to express her gratitude to the community for their support.

Community Support and Remembrance

“My daughter, Caitlyn, was on the boat. I am here to say thank you,” White expressed. “The Adler family’s lives have been forever altered. However, I hope that the girls who had to witness this ordeal can find peace and continue to honour Ella’s memory.”

The local community, including students from Ransom Everglades School, united in support, honouring Adler with painted ballet flats, purple hearts, and heartfelt messages displayed from a cannon on campus, all dedicated to a young life that was tragically cut short.

The investigation into the incident is ongoing, with authorities diligently working to uncover the full circumstances surrounding the accident.

FWC investigators are appealing to anyone with information or video footage related to the incident to contact the Wildlife Alert Hotline at 888-404-FWCC (3922) or Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS (8477).
