A tragic incident unfolded in Raozan upazila of Chattogram last night, resulting in the death of a man following a violent altercation with his elder brother. The victim, identified as 46-year-old Sohag Mia from Khanpara village, passed away at Chattogram Medical College Hospital at approximately 10 pm.
According to Mohammad Rokon Uddin, the Chairman of the Union Parishad, the dispute between Sohag Mia and his elder brother, Sona Mia, originated from a family matter at their residence. The situation quickly escalated, leading to Sona Mia allegedly stabbing his younger brother, causing severe injuries. The horrific incident was witnessed by other family members who were present at the scene.
Following the brutal attack, Sohag Mia was rushed to the hospital for urgent medical attention. Despite efforts to save him, he tragically succumbed to his injuries. The violent clash also left six to seven other family members injured, who are currently under medical care at the Upazila Health Complex.
Jahid Hossain, the Officer-in-Charge at Raozan Police Station, confirmed the distressing event and revealed that Sona Mia’s wife, daughter, and daughter-in-law have been taken into custody in connection with the stabbing. However, Sona Mia himself managed to flee the scene. Authorities are now in the process of preparing legal action against those involved in the incident.
