A 17-year-old boy, identified as Keelan Irvin Jr. from Gonzales, is currently facing a series of serious charges related to multiple shootings that took place within the past week in Ascension Parish, Louisiana.

Details of the Incidents

Sheriff Bobby Webre has disclosed that Irvin Jr. is being accused of six counts of attempted second-degree murder, two counts of negligent injuring, seven counts of aggravated criminal damage to property, and two counts of illegal use of weapons.

The first incident occurred on Sunday, May 12, when police were alerted to shots fired at a mobile home community along South Street and Landry Avenue in Gonzales. Upon arrival, officers discovered a vehicle with six individuals inside that had been targeted by gunfire. Fortunately, no injuries were reported in this particular incident.

The subsequent investigation revealed that a physical altercation had taken place between Irvin Jr. and the occupants of the car prior to the shooting. Following the identification of Irvin Jr. as the shooter, detectives promptly obtained an arrest warrant and took him into custody at the Ascension Parish Jail.

Further inquiry into Irvin Jr.’s activities uncovered his involvement in another shooting that occurred just two days earlier on Friday, May 10, at an event hall located on Airline Highway near Commerce Lane in Prairieville. In this separate incident, two victims sustained non-life-threatening injuries, though the circumstances leading up to the shooting remain unclear.

As a result, Irvin Jr. was re-booked into the Ascension Parish Jail to face additional charges related to the second shooting incident. Both cases are currently under investigation by law enforcement authorities, with no further details being released at this time.
