In Clackamas County, Oregon, a 19-year-old man has been taken into custody following an incident that occurred on February 8 at a gas station located at Southeast Sunnyside Road and Southeast 122nd Avenue.
Authorities have identified the suspect as Javier Ceniceros, who allegedly attempted to steal a car belonging to a 22-year-old individual. When the victim resisted, Ceniceros reportedly shot him in the leg before fleeing the scene with two others in a separate vehicle.
The victim was promptly transported to a nearby hospital for medical attention, and fortunately, his injuries were reported to be non-life-threatening.
Additionally, a second suspect, a 17-year-old, has also been implicated in the incident. Police are pursuing charges of robbery and assault against this individual through the Clackamas County Juvenile Department.
Ceniceros has been formally charged with first-degree robbery, first-degree assault with a firearm, second-degree assault with a firearm, unlawful use of a weapon, menacing, and fourth-degree assault. Furthermore, he is being held on pre-existing warrants from Multnomah County related to charges of attempting to elude law enforcement, unlawful possession of a weapon, and recklessly endangering others.
Law enforcement officials are actively trying to identify a third person who was present with the two suspects during the altercation.
