The Austin Police Department has identified the man who tragically lost his life in a shooting at a north Austin apartment last week. In a recent news release, the agency disclosed that there were two additional victims who sustained gunshot wounds during the incident.
On the evening of May 9 at approximately 8:07 p.m., officers swiftly responded to multiple 911 calls reporting a shooting at the Canyon Ridge Apartments, situated at 12118 Walnut Creek Crossing.
Upon arrival at the apartment complex, law enforcement discovered the lifeless body of a 27-year-old man, later identified as Isaac Jimenez, on the second floor of building five. Sadly, he was pronounced dead at 8:31 p.m.
Subsequently, another man with a gunshot wound was found near building six and was promptly transported to a local hospital for urgent medical attention. Furthermore, a third individual with gunshot injuries was located at a nearby Whataburger on North Lamar Blvd. and was also taken to a local medical facility for treatment, as per the release from the police department.
Following a thorough investigation, authorities determined that Jimenez was inside an apartment at the time of the shooting. It is believed that he was fatally shot during a disturbance. The case remains an active investigation, with law enforcement officers diligently working to gather more information and uncover the circumstances surrounding the tragic incident.
