PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY, Va. – A Woodbridge resident, identified as 73-year-old Edwin Dale Sims, has been arrested for brandishing a firearm at a mother and her five-year-old child during a road rage incident.
The incident took place on Richmond Highway near Celestial Drive in Woodbridge on Wednesday at approximately 4:44 p.m. According to police reports, a 32-year-old woman was driving in the area with her young child when they were involved in a heated exchange with another driver.
During the altercation, Sims allegedly brandished a gun at the victim’s vehicle before the parties eventually went their separate ways. Fortunately, no shots were fired during the incident.
Following the incident, Sims was apprehended by law enforcement and now faces two charges of brandishing a firearm. He is currently being held on a $1,000 bond.
