Accident – Death – Obituary News :

A man from St. Petersburg, Florida, found himself in hot water after allegedly decapitating his dog on Tuesday night. The gruesome incident took place at East Beach in Fort Desoto Park, where deputies responded to reports of a deceased dog wrapped in a plastic bag around 6:45 p.m.

Upon reaching the scene, law enforcement officers discovered a male bulldog mix with its head severed, floating in the mangroves. The poor animal was later identified as Dexter, a 4-year-old pet, thanks to the microchip that Pinellas County Animal Services found during a scan.

The suspect, a 66-year-old man named Domingo Rodriguez, had adopted Dexter from Pinellas County Animal Services just a couple of days before the tragic incident occurred on May 10. Rodriguez claimed that Dexter had run away on the same day he brought him home.

Further investigation revealed that Rodriguez had visited Fort Desoto Park on May 11, where he provided conflicting statements to the authorities. As a result of their findings, Rodriguez was arrested and charged with animal cruelty and improper disposal of a dead animal’s body.

Following his arrest, Rodriguez was taken to the Pinellas County Jail to await further legal proceedings. The case remains under investigation as officials work to uncover all the details surrounding this horrific act of cruelty.
