In Daviess County, Kentucky, a 51-year-old man named Roy Wright is facing a slew of charges after leading officers on a high-speed chase. The incident began when deputies spotted an SUV speeding on Veach Road near Higdon Road.

Upon further investigation, deputies identified the driver as Wright. He was observed running a stop sign, prompting law enforcement to initiate a traffic stop. However, Wright refused to comply and instead accelerated, leading officers on a pursuit.

Despite the deputies’ attempts to stop him, Wright continued to evade capture. Eventually, the officers lost sight of him near Cemetery Street. However, their perseverance paid off as they located the abandoned SUV in the 1800 block of Alexander Avenue.

Shortly thereafter, Wright was apprehended in the vicinity. A search of the area yielded a baggie containing several grams of suspected methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia that Wright had attempted to discard.

Following his arrest, Wright was taken to the Daviess County Detention Center where he is now facing a litany of charges, including disregarding stop signs, failure to signal, disregarding traffic lights, fleeing from police in a motor vehicle, criminal trespassing, operating a vehicle under the influence of controlled substances, and trafficking in controlled substances.
