ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) – Illinois State Police have apprehended a female resident of Cahokia Heights, Illinois, in connection with a murder that occurred at a nightclub earlier this week.
Following a release from ISP, the Division of Criminal Investigation (DCI) Public Safety Enforcement Group took 45-year-old Lakecia Cole into custody for first-degree murder. The incident took place on May 13, when agents were summoned by the East St. Louis Police Department to aid in a homicide inquiry at Another Level Nightclub situated in the 600 block of Martin Luther King Drive.
The victim, identified as Danielle Williams, a 39-year-old from East St. Louis, Illinois, was fatally shot outside the nightclub and was pronounced dead shortly afterwards. Following an investigation conducted by ISP and the East St. Louis Police Department, the case was presented to St. Clair County State’s Attorney James Gomric.
Cole is presently under arrest, awaiting further legal proceedings.
