Accident – Death – Obituary News :

Authorities have identified the driver behind the wheel of the Tesla that violently slammed into a building in Pasadena over the weekend, resulting in the death of three passengers and leaving three others hospitalized.

A memorial has been growing at the corner of Foothill Boulevard and Vista Boulevard, with tributes pouring in nearly two days after the tragic incident that occurred early Saturday morning.

Surveillance Footage Reveals Horrific Crash

Newly released surveillance footage captures the moments when a white Tesla careened down the road after the driver, identified as 22-year-old Moheb Samuel, lost control of the vehicle. The car hit a curve in the road, clipped a curb, and flew through the air before crashing into an abandoned building.

The impact of the crash ejected three passengers from the vehicle, as confirmed by the police. Pasadena Police Department’s Anthony Russo stated, “A collision of that magnitude, with two survivors being ejected from the vehicle, resulted in significant trauma including broken bones.”

Speed and Possible DUI Connection

Police investigations have revealed that the Tesla was travelling at speeds exceeding 100 miles per hour at the time of the crash. The collision claimed the lives of Samuel, 19-year-old Stefan Michael Pfeiffer, and another man in his twenties.

Authorities are looking into the possibility of alcohol playing a role in the incident, with evidence found at the scene. Sources within the Pasadena Police Department suggest that Samuel, who had a previous DUI on his record, may have been driving with a suspended license.

Community Gathers in Mourning

Friends and family of the victims gathered on Monday, including Kristian Newquist, whose 20-year-old son Emerson survived the crash. Emerson sustained a broken neck, arm, and head injuries but has been responsive since the accident.

Marantaha High School, where two other survivors, 18-year-old Bella Ramirez and a 17-year-old girl, attend, provided counselling for students affected by the tragedy.

Lesley Marin, a general assignment reporter for CBS2 Los Angeles, contributed to this report.
