In a heartbreaking turn of events, a 19-year-old man, identified as Miguel Mozo-Hernandez from Encinitas, lost his life in a fatal stabbing over the weekend. The San Diego County Sheriff’s Department responded to reports of the incident on Saturday at 10:11 p.m. in the 300 block of Sprucewood Drive in Encinitas.

Upon their arrival, deputies found Mozo-Hernandez with a stab wound to his stomach area. Despite being rushed to the hospital, he tragically succumbed to his injuries. Following an autopsy, his cause of death has been officially ruled a homicide.

The suspect in this tragic incident, who was arrested by deputies about a half-mile away from the scene on the same night, is none other than the victim’s 17-year-old brother. He is currently in custody at a juvenile hall and is facing homicide charges.

According to preliminary investigations conducted by the sheriff’s department, the fatal altercation between the two brothers took place in the front yard of a residence on Sprucewood Drive.
