Accident – Death – Obituary News : A tragic ATV crash in Nashville leaves a community in mourning as a teenage girl loses her life. The incident took place on Darbytown Drive over the weekend when two 14-year-olds were joyriding on the ATV. The fun turned into a nightmare when the ATV collided with the driver’s side of an SUV. Shockingly, neither of the teens was wearing helmets at the time of the crash.
Dieuna Crispin, a neighbour, witnessed the chaos unfold and sprang into action to help the injured teen. Rushing to the scene from her home, Crispin found one of the teens lying injured on the ground at the end of her driveway. Without hesitation, she began administering CPR in a desperate attempt to save the girl’s life. Despite signs of responsiveness from the victim, tragically, she did not survive her injuries.
The victim, identified as 14-year-old Melanie Mozqueda, succumbed to her injuries a few days after the crash. Crispin expressed her heartbreak at the news, particularly as a mother of three witnessing the tragic event unfold before her eyes.
The driver of the ATV sustained minor injuries, while the driver of the SUV emerged unscathed. Authorities confirmed that there was no evidence of intoxication at the scene, indicating that it was a tragic accident.
