Jaipur: The Rajasthan Police made a significant breakthrough on Tuesday by rescuing two children from a gang operating out of Haryana. One of the victims, a 4-year-old boy, was abducted from Kota on May 5, while the other boy, approximately 15 years old, was taken captive nearly a decade ago.

Safe recovery at Jaipur railway station

Authorities revealed that the 4-year-old boy was kidnapped from Kota Railway station on May 5. The gang, hailing from Haryana, seized the child and transported him to Bhopal. The children were eventually located in Jaipur by the Government Railway Police (GRP).

The Additional Director General of GRP disclosed that beyond rescuing the 4-year-old, they also found the 15-year-old victim who had been abducted a decade ago at the tender age of 5.

Five suspects, including a female member, have been apprehended in connection with the case. It was uncovered that the gang exploited these children for street performances and coerced them into begging at busy intersections.

The 4-year-old was taken from Kota Railway station while his father was purchasing a ticket at the counter. The father and son were en route to Uttar Pradesh when the abduction occurred. Upon realising the child was missing, the father immediately sought assistance from the GRP. Subsequently, the GRP reviewed CCTV footage from the station.

An extensive investigation ensued, leading the authorities to track the kidnappers’ path to Bhopal via road. Approximately 470 CCTV cameras along the Kota-Bhopal route were scrutinised to locate the culprits and their route from Kota. The police followed leads to Jaipur, where both the 4-year-old and the 10-year-old were rescued from the gang.

The arrested suspects have been identified as Mukesh Madari, Karan, Arjun, Rajjo, and Prem. While the 4-year-old has been reunited with his family, efforts are ongoing to locate the teenager’s relatives.
