Accident – Death – Obituary News : A resident of Kittery, Maine, has recently been charged for his alleged involvement in the breach of the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021. The arrest of Lincoln Deming, 44, took place over the weekend after York police officers observed him attempting to view the mesmerizing Northern lights, as detailed in court records. Deming is facing a felony count of civil disorder and five misdemeanors, according to the U.S. attorney’s office in Washington. He is just one of over 1,400 pro-Donald Trump protesters who have been charged in connection with the events of that fateful day. Many of these individuals have already been convicted and sentenced to prison.

The misdemeanor charges brought against Deming include entering and remaining in a restricted building or grounds, disorderly and disruptive conduct in a restricted building or grounds, entering and remaining in the Gallery of Congress, disorderly conduct in a Capitol building, and parading, picketing, or demonstrating in a Capitol building.

A criminal complaint filed by an FBI special agent, whose name has been redacted from the court document, alleges that Deming was present on the West Plaza of the U.S. Capitol during the early afternoon of January 6, 2021. The agent claims that surveillance footage shows Deming attempting to breach the police line by pulling on a bike rack barricade. Despite falling in the process, Deming persisted in his efforts to allow rioters to overtake the West Plaza. He was also seen throwing an object towards officers before making his way to the Upper West Terrace. Inside the Capitol, Deming allegedly took photographs, entered the U.S. Senate Gallery, and tried to access locked rooms.

Following his arrest, Deming was released with conditions set by U.S. Magistrate Judge Karen Frink Wolf. He agreed to an unsecured bond of $10,000 and is prohibited from travelling to Washington D.C. unless for legal proceedings or pre-approved attorney meetings. Additionally, Deming must not possess any firearms, weapons, or destructive devices.

Deming is scheduled for a hearing on May 23 at 12:30 p.m. before D.C. District Court Magistrate Judge G. Michael Harvey via video teleconference. His attorney, Maine federal public defender David Beneman, declined to comment on the case, citing its pending status..
