Tragic Accident Claims the Life of 4-Year-Old Estonian Boy in Pattaya

Paramedics work tirelessly to save 4-year-old Filipp Naumov’s life after being struck by a pickup truck. Despite their valiant efforts, Filipp tragically succumbed to his injuries shortly after being rushed to the hospital.

PATTAYA, Thailand – A heartbreaking incident unfolded at Sukhsiri Village, Soi Boonsampan 9, East Pattaya on May 13, as a 4-year-old Estonian boy, Filipp Naumov, tragically lost his life in a devastating car accident. The young victim was discovered lifeless on the road within the residential area, having sustained severe head injuries and extensive bleeding. Despite the heroic attempts of rescuers and medical professionals who administered CPR and swiftly transported him to the hospital, Filipp could not be saved and succumbed to his injuries shortly after arrival.

The vehicle involved in the tragic accident was a white Toyota pickup truck, driven by Ms. Soracha S., 45, who remained at the scene, visibly shaken, and cooperated fully with the authorities. Eyewitnesses provided an account of the distressing sequence of events. Sakchai Kaewkanjan, a 35-year-old motorcycle taxi rider, recounted dropping off Filipp’s older brother at their residence just moments before the accident occurred. As a foreign girl darted across the road, Filipp followed closely behind, inadvertently running into the path of the oncoming pickup truck.

Ms. Soracha, reflecting on the incident, mentioned that she was departing her house at the end of the village when the tragic collision took place. Driving cautiously, she was caught off guard by the sudden presence of the children on the road. Initially mistaking the impact for hitting an animal, she was devastated to realize it was a child and promptly called for assistance. Surveillance footage captured the heart-wrenching moment, depicting two children crossing the road, with one safely making it across while Filipp was tragically struck by the vehicle.

Lt. Capt. Siriyaporn Kongphetsak, Deputy Chief Investigator of Nongprue Police Station, spearheaded the on-site investigation. Authorities are currently analyzing the surveillance footage to determine the cause of the harrowing accident.
