A 17-year-old male teenager is now facing a second-degree murder charge in connection with the stabbing death of a man in Toronto earlier this month, according to police reports.

The incident took place on May 2 in the Bathurst Street and Roselawn Avenue area in Forest Hill, where authorities received reports of a sudden death just before 1:30 p.m.

Upon arriving at the scene, police discovered the lifeless body of a man inside an apartment unit. The victim, identified as 23-year-old Eugene Maxwell Erlichman, had suffered stab wounds and showed signs of trauma.

The following day, on May 3, a 17-year-old male youth from Brighton, Ont., was taken into custody in connection with the murder. He has since been charged with second-degree murder.

As of now, investigators have not disclosed any information regarding the relationship between the victim and the accused, or the motive behind the attack.

Due to legal restrictions under the Youth Criminal Justice Act (YCJA), the identity of the accused has not been revealed to the public.
