A New York City man sitting on a walker and smoking a cigarette was captured on video lunging at two women and stabbing one of them with a large knife in what seemed to be an unprovoked attack near Times Square.
The disturbing incident unfolded near Port Gourmet Deli on West 43rd and Eighth Avenue on Saturday evening.
Video footage obtained by the New York Post shows the assailant exiting the Port Gourmet Deli, placing his walker against the building, and settling on the walker’s seat.
The man, dressed in gray pants, a bright fluorescent green shirt, black jacket, and orange hat, proceeded to light up a cigarette, cross his arms, and reach inside his jacket.

A man was seen on camera lunging at two women near Times Square in New York City, before stabbing one of them and returning back to his walker to smoke a cigarette. (WNYW)
He then proceeded to retrieve a large kitchen knife from his jacket, lunged at the two women, and slashed one of them before returning to his walker seat to resume smoking his cigarette.
The victim of the stabbing could be seen in the video clutching her chest where the knife had struck her before stepping back.
Subsequently, the women turned around and started walking in the opposite direction.

The New York City Police Department identified the suspect as 62-year-old Cyril Destin, who has reportedly been arrested 24 times in the past two decades for offences such as criminal mischief and trespassing.
Following the attack, law enforcement apprehended Destin, who was then taken to Bellevue Hospital for further evaluation.
The New York City Police Department did not respond immediately to inquiries from Fox News Digital regarding the incident.
The victim, a 46-year-old woman, was also transported to Bellevue Hospital, where she received treatment for a stab wound to the chest and was reported to be in stable condition, as per the New York Post.
