The Topeka Police Department (TPD) has announced that a man who was injured in a motorcycle crash earlier this month has tragically passed away. The incident, which took place on Tuesday, May 7, has claimed the life of Christopher L. Evans, a 38-year-old resident of Topeka.
According to TPD spokeswoman Rosie Nichols, the crash occurred at the intersection of 1st Street and SW Topeka Boulevard, where a motorcycle collided with a car. Evans, the motorcycle driver, sustained life-threatening injuries and was rushed to a local hospital for treatment. Sadly, he succumbed to his injuries on Saturday, May 11.
Following the crash, a 31-year-old woman from Topeka who was a passenger in the car fled the scene on foot. She was later located by police at a nearby intersection and was subsequently arrested on a felony warrant. The authorities are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
