Accident – Death – Obituary News : LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – An arrest report obtained by FOX5 has shed light on the aftermath of a tragic incident involving two teenagers in downtown Las Vegas.

Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department responded to reports of a shooting on the early morning of Monday, May 6th at around 4:08 a.m. The caller, who identified himself as the father of 17-year-old Cesar Sandoval Jr., informed officers that his son had been involved in a shooting with a friend but was hesitant to provide further details.

Upon arriving at the caller’s residence, officers detained Sandoval Jr. who later disclosed that the shooting had taken place near St. Louis and 15th Street.

Subsequently, at approximately 4:46 a.m., law enforcement officers discovered a deceased female in the driver’s seat of a grey Honda. The victim, later identified as 18-year-old Jazlynn Johnson, had sustained a fatal gunshot wound to the head and was pronounced dead at the scene.

During questioning at LVMPD Headquarters, Sandoval Jr. acknowledged that the shooting was a tragic accident that resulted in the harm of his friend. However, he opted to have legal representation present before providing further information.

Sandoval Jr.’s parents recounted that he had returned home in a state of distress and panic around 3:00 a.m., embracing his mother while confessing, “It was an accident.” According to the report, he admitted to his parents that he had made a grave mistake, stating, “I [expletive] up, I did something wrong. I shot my friend.”

Despite his plea for his parents not to involve the authorities, his brother insisted on reporting the incident to the police, citing his brother’s wrongdoing.

Sandoval Jr. was subsequently arrested on charges of open murder, destroying/concealing evidence, and being a minor in possession of a firearm. He has since been remanded to Clark County Juvenile Hall pending a preliminary hearing scheduled for Wednesday, June 18.
