A tragic ATV crash in Nevada County claimed the life of a 15-year-old boy on Saturday evening, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP). The incident occurred around 7:30 p.m. on private property in the vicinity of Hillside Terrace and Dog Bar Road, located in southern Nevada County.

Situated approximately 16 miles south of Grass Valley and 47 miles northeast of Sacramento, the remote area where the crash took place posed challenges for emergency responders. A helicopter crew swiftly arrived at the scene to transport the injured teen to Sutter Roseville Medical Center for treatment of major head trauma. Tragically, the young victim succumbed to his injuries and passed away at the hospital.

Accompanying the deceased teen was a 14-year-old boy who was identified as the driver of the ATV. The younger boy sustained non-life-threatening injuries in the crash and was also taken to the hospital for medical attention.

The California Highway Patrol has ruled out the involvement of drugs or alcohol as contributing factors in the ATV accident. While the exact circumstances leading to the crash remain under investigation, authorities are working diligently to piece together the sequence of events that resulted in this devastating outcome.
